... The day had started with plans of going out to horse around ... Until that 530am call came requesting a super-last-minute trip out ... Having left the dock around 930, the wind had just began to howl... We ease out of the pass with jolly thoughts of days prior, preparing to slam the spanish and juvi kings ... 4 hours later, we had managed all of 1 spanish, and a super-quality lizard fish with shoulders....
With winds now at 18 from the N, a ground swell of 3 ft, and waves uh pounding, the pressure is on... Out of happenstance, the mate tosses down a plug on the deep troll, and alas, the day is saved... a sweet Gag of 31 inches comes over the rails out from a whopping 23 feet of water... The customers are motivated now... Knowing that was a fluke ... We circle back to a 24-26 incher, which customer lost at the boat... DOH! ... Mate fires down another plug, and we continue onward to several more barely-there gags, until the mack chew finally turned on, whereas we promptly sacked up a half dozen or so quality spaniards and called it a day.
Praise be to the fish gods and the horse shoe found that I had tucked away.
Water temp: 73 Clarity: Mud.
Fish On!
