Hey everyone, Looking for some help. Visiting Tampa in 3 days and the ignition switch on the boat is bad (Key won't turn). Can't find the exact part. Don't know if this helps but it's a Mercury 115 4 stroke. The ignition switch is a 4 position reading OFF/ACC/ON/START. Need to hook up a generic 4 position ignition switch. Just not sure on the wiring. It has 6 sealed wires which we'll need to cut and splice to the new switch. Does anyone know how to color code these wires or have a reference to a wiring diagram? Thanks for any help! |

Easier to find the correct part and just match wires - not sure why you can't __________________ Creative Mortgage Financing for Fisherman

Don't buy a generic one.
Call the dealer an order one (expect to need Vaseline). Cut the wires and match them up and use heat shrinking connectors. For the difference in the amount of money you will save verses the amount of time you will use the boat, don't try and save 50.00 - you don't want to be wrong at the wrong time....
just my thoughts and experiences,
